3.5Roughly the first 60% is Sam s story retold from Ryan s pov Very different tone from that book, though If you are looking for a sweet read and can suspend all disbelief this book is a nice break from reality The secondary characters were fun Ryan s luck strength of character were too good to be true, but it was so blatant that it was actually easy to set aside and enjoy his journey And it s pretty hard to beat the cover.

This was so ridiculously rushed that I felt I was ripped off by paying 5 for it It s only the last half, which actually saves this book from landing on my kick to the curb list and gave it the somewhat high rating I have given it Quite a feat to do, but it actually happened, so I have to give applause for that I liked the first chapter of the book It was sweet, it was ideal and it was utterly unrealistic, but this is fiction, I am reading, so at times, I want the ideal to happen and put the This was so ridiculously rushed that I felt I was ripped off by paying 5 for it It s only the last half, which actually saves this book from landing on my kick to the curb list and gave it the somewhat high rating I have given it Quite a feat to do, but it actually happened, so I have to give applause for that I liked the first chapter of the book It was sweet, it was ideal and it was utterly unrealistic, but this is fiction, I am reading, so at times, I want the ideal to happen and put the realism on the shelf for a little while However, things quickly south from there Instead of actually getting into things and truly start the story, we have to endure page after page of description and nothing Absolutely nothing, except reading about how Ryan have to get into the L.A environment and how his heart is crushed by a certain Sam Lockwood That could have been cut even further down Most, if not all, have already read Sam s story, so we don t really need to have the huge gaps of time between the meetings and having to know what happened We already know that Reading Ryan s POV was alright, but I have to admit, I skimmed a lot of it, because I was re reading what I already knew It was boring, to be frank Having to read too many pages about his budding releationship with his roommate was also quite boring, because nothing of importance happened, except showing us that he slowly gained a friend I don t need to read so many pages about that We were almost half way through the book before we actually met Officer Knox and having to read the last 100 or so pages about Ryan and Knox establishing a relationship, Ryan landing a job and everything That becomes a very rushed book I d have loved it if there was put an extra 100 pages on it, considering that 60% of the book was something we already knew and something we could have lived without But, considering the other books, this one was sweet Very sweet Where the other two have had the whole manipulation theme going along with the psychological drama, this one barely touched the subjects Probably because neither main character brought a lot with them I would have liked to delve deeper, though, and in that sense I must admit my expectations were probably too high for this book But G.A Hauser usually delivers Unfortunately, she didn t deliver in same style in this one and that is what have to bring me down to the 3 stars Had it not been for the last part of the book and my absolutely love for Officer Knox, it would have gone even further down I truly do hope I will get the chance to readabout these two, because they deserve muchscreen time than what they got

Taking Ryan is the last book in a series with DOWN AND DIRTY first and THE LAST HARD MAN second This book is really nothing like the frost two and is kind of sweet You meet Ryan first in the second book enough to set up his own story The only one that didn t make me want to shower after reading them Ryan s story is sweet and he has to be the luckiest guy in the world, so you have to suspend your beliefs a bit and go with it.It seems all of Ms Hauser s books have one orof the the chara Taking Ryan is the last book in a series with DOWN AND DIRTY first and THE LAST HARD MAN second This book is really nothing like the frost two and is kind of sweet You meet Ryan first in the second book enough to set up his own story The only one that didn t make me want to shower after reading them Ryan s story is sweet and he has to be the luckiest guy in the world, so you have to suspend your beliefs a bit and go with it.It seems all of Ms Hauser s books have one orof the the character, either mentioned or in person, from nearly all of her other works I thought seriously about starting from the beginning or at least the beginning of the books set in California, with the intention of getting to Capital Games , since it seems to be one of her major story lines However, I watch the movie trailer for the book and decided against it Not that the story is probably bad but the actors ,okay only the one chosen to portray Mark Richfield who is suppose to be uber gorgeous and eventually becomes a famous Gay male model superstar is just totally unattractive The other two guys aren t bad looking but now if I read the book I would be associating Mark with the actors face and it is a big turn off.Ms Hauser s books for me are hit or miss so I won t really be missing anything

I m always at a loss with Hauser s books, yet something keeps pulling me back into them I enjoy than as a whole, but when I try to analyze them I have so many issues with things like the editing, the total and complete suspension of belief that is required for a none sci fi werewolf type of book, the lack of depth etc So basically, there is something about the characters and world she creates I like, but I just can t tell you what it is other than a very guilty pleasure If you are new to I m always at a loss with Hauser s books, yet something keeps pulling me back into them I enjoy than as a whole, but when I try to analyze them I have so many issues with things like the editing, the total and complete suspension of belief that is required for a none sci fi werewolf type of book, the lack of depth etc So basically, there is something about the characters and world she creates I like, but I just can t tell you what it is other than a very guilty pleasure If you are new to this author, I highly suggest you read many reviews from both ends of the spectrum to get a feel

Okay, it was so pie in the sky and almost totally unbelievable that I added it to my fairy tales sort of shelf But Ryan is such a hottie and so sweet that you can t help but root for him to get everything he deserves.Except for Sam who was someone Ryan thought he wanted, but he truly deserved much better.I enjoyed the story, the characters, and found it a light and fun read I just finished a couple hard reads and this one was a breath of fresh air.Enjoyable and recommended.
