5 STARSThis series set off an overwhelming assault on my emotions I found it incredible, the entire series was because each book had it s completely different set of quirks, which really kept it interesting So for lovers of deep undercover Police work that s quite nasty, especially in book 1 which had me a nervous wreck from anxiety, through to the other twists and turns that continue on until the finale in book 4 which I also found rather dark I found book two quite funny even though terribl 5 STARSThis series set off an overwhelming assault on my emotions I found it incredible, the entire series was because each book had it s completely different set of quirks, which really kept it interesting So for lovers of deep undercover Police work that s quite nasty, especially in book 1 which had me a nervous wreck from anxiety, through to the other twists and turns that continue on until the finale in book 4 which I also found rather dark I found book two quite funny even though terrible things happen, and book 3 left me a sobbing mess I think each reader will get a something different personally from each book. You get one hell of a rough ride but with such amazing amounts of romantic tenderness thrown in too Mind you there are a few Trigger Warnings throughout the series but especially this final book.I found the writing exceptional due to the way Laura Harner told this story It was almost aloof, for a better word Leaving out clues and not having solid direction keeps you on edge, thinking about horrible scenario s about to play out on her AMAZING MC s I loved the fact that there is no little hints you can pick up on early and go, I saw that coming You re flying blind in all 4 books. It made you think or rather made your mind race with hideous ideas of what was to come The storylines and sub plots were masterfully conceived and left you reaching for the jesus bar because you had no idea where things were going It s like you brace yourself as you re about to take a right hand turn, but are slammed into a vicious left with a loop thrown in Mind you it s not like this constantly throughout the entire series but when Laura Harner decides to slam the brakes on, only to find they don t work whilst travelling at a high speed, it s not a great idea to read before bed

Wow What an emotional roller coaster ride this series has been Enjoyed nearly every minute 5 stars and 5 After what happened in the previous book, and the fact that some of us were practically ready to commit murder at the ending not pointing the finger in anyone s direction coughs JR , it feels as though it s been a long old wait for this, the final book in the series BUT I know it hasn t really, Ms Harner has had the new Pulp Friction series to keep her busy, and other stuff wait Wow What an emotional roller coaster ride this series has been Enjoyed nearly every minute 5 stars and 5 After what happened in the previous book, and the fact that some of us were practically ready to commit murder at the ending not pointing the finger in anyone s direction coughs JR , it feels as though it s been a long old wait for this, the final book in the series BUT I know it hasn t really, Ms Harner has had the new Pulp Friction series to keep her busy, and other stuff waiting in the wings no doubt.I m not going into great detail for this one, it s your loss if you haven t read the 3 stories so far and if not, why the hell not , but suffice it to say that the Child Prostitution ring of the first book rears its ugly head again, and the Saudi Arabian Ministry of the Interior has a helluva problem with one of its junior officials, who seems to think it s perfectly OK to severely beat and sexually abuse vulnerable young men Tobes, who is under the mistaken assumption that Remy slept with Jamie after Mig s funeral, has a huge row with Remy and storms off Once Remy sleeps off his 3 day hangover, he starts to track Tobes down and it would appear that Las Vegas is the destination Who else turns up in Las Vegas, what happens to the sleazy abusive Saudi Arabian, and how all the ends are neatly wrapped up in this story, is for you to discover. My favourite lines Would forever work for you Turned into a puddle of goo several times when that line appeared, and again, only readers of all the stories will get the significance of it ANDFamily had nothing to do with the sperm and egg or how you were raised It was about who had your back even when you were an ass It was all about who you couldn t stand to lose who you couldn t watch walk away without shattering into a million pieces The quality of love could be measured in the pain of the loss or the effort it took to maintain That was what he needed to tell Toby And Jamie. Many thanks Laura for introducing us to Remy and Jamie and allowing us to fall in love with them I would also second Sam s comment about a spin off for Tobyand if possible a little catch up with one of my favourite couples

To do something like a series you must begin as you intend to go on, and that is exactly what Laura Harner has done with Separate Ways In the last book of the series she ties up all of the loose threads and gives us a rollicking good time, with angst, thrills, chills, and plenty of twists and turns Did you know there was a whole community right under your feet as you stroll down the Strip in Las Vegas That and many other surprises are in this story. You really don t know how this is going to t To do something like a series you must begin as you intend to go on, and that is exactly what Laura Harner has done with Separate Ways In the last book of the series she ties up all of the loose threads and gives us a rollicking good time, with angst, thrills, chills, and plenty of twists and turns Did you know there was a whole community right under your feet as you stroll down the Strip in Las Vegas That and many other surprises are in this story. You really don t know how this is going to turn out until you get to the end and then you think, well of course, it couldn t end any other way Not everyone lives to the end of the series or this story But there is an HEA for someone that is very satisfying My only regret is it is over I have a serious book hangover that makes it difficult to start another book Maybe I ll take a break and watch some TV Nah Too many good books on my Kindle begging for attention See you on down the bookshelf

This is the fourth and final book of the series and what an explosive ending After the road that led these men here, you would think they d be entitled to a little downtime, but nope Laura makes them earn every bit of the finale with blood, sweat, andthan a few tears. She also pays homage to my favorite character for those who haven t read the series, I won t say anything to spoil it for you in the most beautiful of ways.Thank you for this story, Laura And for letting me come along for This is the fourth and final book of the series and what an explosive ending After the road that led these men here, you would think they d be entitled to a little downtime, but nope Laura makes them earn every bit of the finale with blood, sweat, andthan a few tears. She also pays homage to my favorite character for those who haven t read the series, I won t say anything to spoil it for you in the most beautiful of ways.Thank you for this story, Laura And for letting me come along for the ride

When their gazes locked, Remy s chin raised and his lips parted slightly In that moment, Jamie saw a man whose world had completely unraveled, who needed comfort, a friend, someone to help him through the loss of his one true love God forgive me, but I can t be that man and survive with my heart intact Then Remy mouthed the words guaranteed to haunt Jamie for the rest of his life Please don t go I honestly wasn t so sure I would survive the end of the previous book This Separate Ways sWhen their gazes locked, Remy s chin raised and his lips parted slightly In that moment, Jamie saw a man whose world had completely unraveled, who needed comfort, a friend, someone to help him through the loss of his one true love God forgive me, but I can t be that man and survive with my heart intact Then Remy mouthed the words guaranteed to haunt Jamie for the rest of his life Please don t go I honestly wasn t so sure I would survive the end of the previous book This Separate Ways series has been everything I could ve ever hoped for, and thenAt the end of book one I was stunned to see Remy walk away from Jamie At the end of book two, my jaw was hanging open watching Remy and Miggy together, and Jamie walking away And, at the end of book three, I was in tears with Miggy s death and Remy s world collapsing, and Jamie leaving Frankly, I was afraid to read this fourth and final book I had no clear idea whether the author was going to let these two men have their happy ever after or if it was all going to end up with my head in a box of tissues I love you, Laura Harner, but you ve gutted me with this series.Remy is alone Toby disappeared only telling Remy he d be back sometime Jamie has gotten tagged by Interpol again to help in a case of a sadistic lowly Saudi Arabian prince beating his stable of young boys to death in Las Vegas Turns out Toby went to Las Vegas to try to find his friend Pepper So, when Remy uses his investigator software to track down Toby, he s mighty surprised to find both him and Jamie in Sin City Of course, Remy heads off to find Toby and bring him home, and figure out what Jamie is up to.Jamie and Remy have a lot of talking they need to do There are a lot of hurt feelings, miscommunications, guilt, anger, and love that they need to resolve if they re ever going to get to a place where they ll both be happy While they re dealing with each other and a potential for a future, they re trying to find Toby and Pepper, since Pepper has been identified as being with the psychotic prince Easier said than done since Toby s pride won t let him call Remy and, instead, he falls back on what he knows how to do to make money Oh, Toby.I m speechless Literally I can t believe what happened I couldn t, in a million years, have seen how the author took this series and ended it I loved it

4.5 StarsI went into this book still mourning Miggy, but also hopeful for Remy and Jamie And now Toby has gotten mixed up in some rather unsavory things while trying to help his friend Pepper Wow, what a wild ride this was We truly come full circle here. When this series started, neither Remy nor Jamie was fit for a relationship They both had some stuff to work out and Remy needed to learn how to not run away They have come so far and they finally get their HEA But, boy do they have to work 4.5 StarsI went into this book still mourning Miggy, but also hopeful for Remy and Jamie And now Toby has gotten mixed up in some rather unsavory things while trying to help his friend Pepper Wow, what a wild ride this was We truly come full circle here. When this series started, neither Remy nor Jamie was fit for a relationship They both had some stuff to work out and Remy needed to learn how to not run away They have come so far and they finally get their HEA But, boy do they have to work for it I am smiling

This bookthis book was just so damned perfect for me It took me on the most incredibly emotional roller coaster ride I cried tears of heartache for Toby, for Pepper, for Remy and Jamie, Jamie s brother and his wife There was frustration and rage, joy and sorrow I wanted it to end and never end at the same time because part of me was afraid of what the ending would bring for these two men.Remy and Jamie s lives have intersected time and time again throughout this incredible series and alwa This bookthis book was just so damned perfect for me It took me on the most incredibly emotional roller coaster ride I cried tears of heartache for Toby, for Pepper, for Remy and Jamie, Jamie s brother and his wife There was frustration and rage, joy and sorrow I wanted it to end and never end at the same time because part of me was afraid of what the ending would bring for these two men.Remy and Jamie s lives have intersected time and time again throughout this incredible series and always the end has been the same for one reason or another one of them has left the other behind Something that neither of them has truly wanted So this time around I was determined to be prepared for that to happen I truly spent most of this book curled up in a comfy chair, box of kleenex handy, teddy bear gripped tightly to me or puppy when he was in need of some attention Remy keeps telling us that he doesn t know how to do the relationship thing, to talk feelings and yet in the middle of this story he gives Jamie the one question that resonates through to the very end, Would forever work for you I didn t expect that a story could beheartbreaking than Moving Mountains had been, if you haven t read it you may not want to peek at this spoiler, view spoiler we were left with Miggy getting fatally shot, Jamie Remy once again parting ways and then Toby driving off to who knows where as soon as Remy returned from taking Jamie to the airport hide spoiler I was so very wrong, but there were also some very happy and hopeful moments While the ending of this book feels like it is also the end of the series, I felt I had been left with something that was so wonderfully right and complete but at the same Ms Harner has left a window of opportunity open just in case Remy Jamie decide to whisper in her ear again At the end of it all Moving Mountains and Prevailing Winds were definitely two of my favourite reads this year The only reason I haven t included Continental Divide and Oceans Apart in this list is because I didn t read them this year Separate Ways was definitely a series worth getting my box of tissue, favourite bear and curling up with

This series has been a roller coaster of will they won t they what the hell In Continental divide, we met Remy and Jamie and fell in love with them One thing that they definitely have is chemistry, it practically oozes out of the pages of the book But they don t make it and go their separate ways. Then a Ocean cruise happensA secret is revealed Jamie s mother dies.Miggy dies. And Jamie and Remy separate againThis book starts of right where Moving Mountains left of And for that I am ete This series has been a roller coaster of will they won t they what the hell In Continental divide, we met Remy and Jamie and fell in love with them One thing that they definitely have is chemistry, it practically oozes out of the pages of the book But they don t make it and go their separate ways. Then a Ocean cruise happensA secret is revealed Jamie s mother dies.Miggy dies. And Jamie and Remy separate againThis book starts of right where Moving Mountains left of And for that I am eternally grateful, I personally couldn t have waited another moment before seeing them together again And Laura Harner manages to pull off their romance without it feeling too rushed or like just a means to an end.As Miggy remarks there is an air of What If surrounding Jamie and Remy And in this book they finally tackle the What If and decide that they want to try for forever At the end of the first book I had no idea why either of them didn t want a relationship but after meeting these two in this book you come to realise just how much they have grown, I mean I always thought Jamie was the sensible one but this time we see Remy being sensible, talking about his feelings and fighting for their together.Near the end there was a touch and go moment that really threw me for a spin but I am glad it got settled. This book also focuses on Toby and the interactions between Jamie, Remy and Toby really emphasize the journey these three characters have undertaken since the first book view spoiler Pepper dying was really depressing because along the way I was rooting for Salt and Pepper But even though Pepper says he knows no love the fact that he took the knife for Toby says a lot because love comes in a million forms R.I.P Pepper Also Toby s brush with AIDS highlights that particular menace I commend the author on her research on testing for HIV Because exactly like in the book there are many cases where you can t say a definite yes or no at the first go and also because instead of taking the easy way out the author really made me understand the quagmire that is AIDS hide spoiler This book was awesome all round and this series was a journey well worth the time
