    This Australian Police Procedural is an excellent tale told with much skill and empathy for the grim job our Police force does for us Detective Sergeant Rueben McAuley is recovering from a past gunshot wound and possibly returns to active service a tad too soon However he is quickly immersed in a baffling case that will test his physical and metal strength to the utmost Dealing with murder, rock spiders and Departmental politics will take all of his ability and to further add to his worries This Australian Police Procedural is an excellent tale told with much skill and empathy for the grim job our Police force does for us Detective Sergeant Rueben McAuley is recovering from a past gunshot wound and possibly returns to active service a tad too soon However he is quickly immersed in a baffling case that will test his physical and metal strength to the utmost Dealing with murder, rock spiders and Departmental politics will take all of his ability and to further add to his worries is the fragile reconciliation with his estranged wife, Ella.This a well crafted story with excellent character development and is a real page turner Highly recommended

    Awesome right up there with Peter Temple Great plot, lots of twists and turns, lots of surprises AHHHHH so satisfying.

    An impressive police procedural set in Melbourne, Australia Jarad Henry is the perfect guide through mental life of police and the sub culture that shapes them Very good characterization and story line Going inside the mindset of the police is a difficult literary journey Jarad Henry makes that journey rewarding and enduring.

    great book Gritty and realistic with a protagonist I could identify with The authenticity of the policing procedures gave the story line credibility, and I enjoyed reading about my home town I am looking forward to reading his other books

    What starts out to be a simple drug overdose at the begining of the book turns into somethingdangerous and frightening Set in St Kilda in Melbourne it brings out all the local streets and icons.I really enjoyed this Aussie thriller.
