About the Author: Alexander Collas

I reside in a little town in Texas an hour outside of Dallas Having spent most of my early professional life in the tech industry, I eventually decided to retire and pursue something that feeds my soulthan my pocketbook The two cornerstones of my writing career are the series, Journal of a Deadman and The Family Morningstar Both blossoming from the many friendships I have made in Second Life, an MMORPG Xia Morningstar, the focus of all my books and my Second Life avatar still wanders the dark places of that virtual reality Often being found at the inworld Death Nail Media shop where members of Second Life can buy Real World books using the in game money called Lindens We also do talks, parties, and giveaways there as well Originally I considered going the mainstream route, but after talking to several author friends realized I was way too controlling to allow my books to be edited based upon someone else s bottom line I have an unwavering belief that a writer should never modify or sacrifice their story to satisfy the demands of their publisher or other markets demands So I m with Death Nail Media who welcomes writers of many genres into its ranks and doesn t ask them to alter or change their works in any way Walking the indie publishing route in today s market is difficult even at the best of times, but I believe that everyone has at least one story in them and there needs to be a place where that journey can play out exactly as its creator envisions.
